






Within the fund supported by ActionAid Cambodia via Italian People and EU, in the project of Local Right Program (LRP), and Strengthening the CSOs to take Action for Economic Governance (SCEAG). CWDCC has celebrated the World Ocean’s Day under the topic of “Catalyzing Action for our Ocean and Climate”.
This event conducted on June 8, 2025 at Phum Thmey Community Fishery in Kep province, Cambodia with the co-organizing by CWDCC, ActionAid Cambodia, and our 12 partners organization and Community Fishery Networks in Kampot and Kep provinces. The event was participating by around 300 people who came from 4 coastal provinces of Cambodia as they are community fisheries’ committees, members, students, youths, and women champion network in Kampot under the opened remark by Secretary of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Deputy Governor of Kep Provincial.
Followed the our World Ocean’s Day agenda, we achieved the results such as educated to students, youth, women, and communities about plastic pollution, high dangerous species that nearly destroy or lost in impacting by climate change and human actions, benefits of mangroves, seagrass, and coral reefs on life. During this event, we also planted 3,000mangroves in Phum Thmey Community Fishery to protect our ocean as well as to increase the blue carbon for our planet and lives.
Moreover, CWDCC is high commitment to achieve the global SDGs’ number 5,13,14&15, we planned to plant the 100,000mangroves in our target areas such as Kampot and Kep provinces, Coastal Areas of Cambodia for 2025-26.
